College Manager Honoured with Award For Excellence

 



Syed Shuaib Ahmed Saheb, Manager Karamat Husain Muslim Girls’ P G College Was honoured with the ‘Bharat Jyoti’ Award by the India International Friendship Society, New Delhi, for Outstanding performance, Achievement and Excellence in the field of Education. He is Widely acknowledged for his administrative skills and developmental  potential through which he has transformed this institution into one of the most prestigious ones amongst the minority institutions in the region.
The Award consisted of a Shield and Certificate of Excellence and was presented by the former Governor of Tamil Nadu and Assam, Sri Bhishm Narain Singh, at the Speaker’s Hall, New Delhi on 7 Jan 2011.

NASREEN AHMED MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP AND GOLD MEDAL

In fond memory of his wife, late Mrs. Nasreen Ahmed who was a Senior Lecturer in History in the College, and to encourage and motivated girls for quality education, Mr. Mumtaz Ahmed, IPS, husband of the deceased teacher has instituted six scholarship Awards and one Gold Medal for the student of Modern and Medieval History. This Award/Scholarship will be available to meritorious students every year.

   
At the grand function, organized in the college on December 9,2010, his Excellency B.L. Joshi, Governer of Uttar Pradesh gave away the awards to
   
Km. Garima, who received a gold medal for scoring the highest marks in Hostory in the College in B.A. 3rd year and also for topping in the subject in the entire Lucknow University.
   
Km. Farah Naz, Deepti Tripathi and Arti Lodhi of B.A. 2nd year were given scholarship for obtaining the highest marks in History in B.A. 1st year
   
Km Sushma Kureel, Soni Singh and Shweta Srivastava of B.A. 3rd year were given scholarship for obtaining the highest marks in History in B.A. 2nd year.
   
The Manager of the, Syed Shuaib Ahmad, presented a ‘Sipasnama’ ti his Excelleny and Prof. M.K. Mishra, Vice Chancellor Lucknow University lauded the management and students of their achievement Mr. Mumtaz Ahmed presented two sets of History books to the College Library.
 
   
   

MR. TIMOTHY J. ROEMER, U.S. AMBASSADOR
VISITS KARAMAT HUSAIN MUSLIM GIRL’S P.G. COLLEGE LUCKNOW, U.P. (INDIA)
ON A GOOD WILL MISSION

The U.S. Ambassador, Mr. Timothy J. Roemer visited Karamat Husain Muslim Girls’ P.G. College, Lucknow on March 16, 2010. Upon his arrival he was felicitated by Mr. Syed Shuaib Ahmed, Manager of the College and Dr. Jalees Fatima Shaukat, officiating principal of the institution.

   
The students garlanded him and showered rose petals along the way. Ambassador Roemer joined in an informal game of Basketball with the College team and successfully scored a basket.
   
 
   
Dr. Noor Khan Associate Professor, Dept. of English introduced Ambassador Roemer to the Undergraduate and Post graduate students of English Department.  Ambassador Roemer interacted with the students and answered their queries   on the “American Dream”. He emphasized on the importance of U.S.-INDIA relationship and among other things showed a special interest in Education and Women’s Empowerment.
   
 
   

 

Ambassador Roemer was deeply impressed with the College. He admired the College for it’s administration and complimented it as a “First rate Institution of Higher Education”.

Ambassador Timothy J. Roemer leads one of America’s largest diplomatic missions and has principal responsibility for broadening and deepening the multi-faceted U.S.-INDIA partnership. Nominated by U.S.  President Barack Obama as the 21st U.S. Ambassador to the Republic of India on May 27, 2009. Ambassador Roemer was confirmed by the U.S. Senate on July 10, 2009 and sworn in on July 23, 2009. He presented his credentials to Indian president Pratibha Patil on August 11, 2009.

As one of the youngest Ambassadors appointed to India.Ambassador Roemer immediately and enthusiastically reached out to the people of India, leading by example in strengthening the people-to-people ties that form the foundation of the expanding U.S.-India relationship. This relationship is one of the most important relationships in the world. The Ambassador is an indefatigable champion of the burgeoning U.S.-INDIA relationship across all fields of human endeavor including strategic cooperation; science, technology, health and innovation; energy and climate change; education and development; and economics, trade, and agriculture.

   
 
   



Prior to his nomination as Ambassador to India, Ambassador Roemer was President of the Center for National Policy (CNP) in Washington, D.C. a moderate think-tank dedicated to sparking bipartisan dialogue and actively encouraging solutions to America’s most important national security challenges. Under his leadership, CNP fostered productive dialogue by bringing together experts and policy makers to build consensus and political cooperation on Capitol Hill and with the Executive Branch. Ambassador Roemer holds a B.A. from the University of California, San Diego and an M.A. and PhD. in American Government from the University of Notre Dame.

 
Karamat College becomes a SAI Centre

The sports Authority of India (SAI) established an extension centre at Karamat Husain Muslim Girls’ P.G. College on 23rd march, 2009. Olympian Syed Ali was one of the selectors present at the trials. The centre came into existence due to the efforts of Syed Shuaib Ahmed, Manager of the college and Hockey Olympian Late Jaman Lal Sharma.
At the centre girl students are selected to undergo hockey training in a professional environment created by the college which has a long history of encouraging hockey as a sport activity for girls.
